The director of the upcoming Justice League miniseries has revealed that he has everything jotted down about the character “Darkseid,” which will be further developed once he is done with his Justice League project.
The absence of the character “Darkseid” is one of the reasons why the 2017 film Justice League did not do well at the box office. Nevertheless, the character will return to the world in HBO Max’s Justice League reboot.
The real question is, does Snyder have any idea what to do with the character after the events of the miniseries? Yes, the director is pretty confident that he has the character arc of Darkseid jotted down. Snyder spoke about Darkseid at the League of Mayhem live stream organized by The Nerd Queens. At the live stream, the director referenced the conversation that had happened between him and the actor Ray Porter (who plays the character Darkseid) and said that he does know what will happen when the supervillain lands on earth.
“I do know what happens,” he had said during the live stream.
Fans are pretty upbeat to know this as they believe that the Darkseid invasion will supersede the Thanos attack on earth, which was shown in the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War. This very quote from Zack Snyder has created a certain fanaticism in the fans’ fraternity regarding the second Justice League movie. All the clues and hints point us to the fact that the DC studio does want to make another Justice League movie, but it will all depend on the outcome of the “Snyder Cut,” which Snyder is currently busy with.
Considering the personal pain Snyder is living with, we all should just wish good things for the miniseries.
The 2017 film Justice League explored Batman’s endeavor to find a new league of superheroes as he faced an unprecedented threat in the form of Steppenwolf. Feeling Superman’s absence, Batman took the help of Wonder Woman to find the likes of Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash to save the planet from the wrath of Steppenwolf. However, when things got out of control, Batman and company brought Superman back from the dead to give themselves a chance against Steppenwolf.
Most of the 2017 film was directed by Zack Snyder, but he had to leave the project during post-production because of some personal tragedy. The rest of the works were completed by someone named Joss Whedon (who has been involved in several controversies ever since).
Despite the failure of the Justice League, there are some positive signs for DCEU as the films like Aquaman and Shazam have restored some balance in the studio’s favor. Another 2017 film Wonder Woman was also a pretty splendid movie, and up until the arrival of Aquaman, it was the solitary jewel of the franchise.
The next DCEU film lined up for the release is none other than the sequel of Wonder Woman. Patty Jenkins directed film “Wonder Woman 1984” is all set to arrive on Christmas Day (let’s hope it stays that way).
