YouTube Music Users Will Now Be Allowed to Share Tracks on Snapchat and Instagram Stories

Google Play Music will soon be taken down, and by the time this happens, YouTube Music will get loaded with features that will be enough to satisfy a giant community of online music streamers. Google Play Music has started shutting down, and this is why Google is continually adding more features to its other music streaming service – YouTube Music. Google wants to make YouTube Music appealing to the users worldwide so that even if Google Play Music is taken down, the users would have another service available right there for streaming music.

Google is working on making improvements in the performance of YouTube Music and is continuously adding new features to make it more responsive. Recently Google has introduced a new feature to the YouTube Music app. With the help of this recently announced feature, users will be able to share songs to Snapchat and Instagram stories from their YouTube Music account.

9to5Google gave the first report related to this. The YouTube Music users will now be able to share music from YouTube Music to their Snapchat and Instagram stories. This feature is not fully functional because the icon on click is reportedly leading to a crash. This new icon was not there in the YouTube Music version 4.0.2.51. It simply means that everything is under test right now.

This feature is not new as we have already seen it in the streaming services like Spotify. Hence, it can be seen clearly that YouTube Music is not the first service that is allowing users to share tracks on other media services like Snapchat and Instagram. Spotify already introduced these features earlier and made them a part of its service. Apple did something similar with its music streaming service – Apple Music. The company implemented the same thing with the new iOS update.

Once the song sharing feature becomes fully functional, it will work similarly to Apple Music and Spotify. When you share a track on Snapchat or Instagram, people visiting your story will be able to view the name of the track, the artist, and the album behind it. Once they click on the preview, they will be redirected to YouTube Music on their device, from where they can easily hear that particular track.

Conclusion

So, this was all about the latest feature of Google for YouTube Music. Sources have reported that YouTube Music is also working on introducing a ‘Year in Review’ playlist. This feature is another one that is taken straight from Spotify.
