Xbox Series X vs. PS5: Which One is Better for You?

The upcoming November is going to be a little dramatic for the enthusiastic gamers as Microsoft and Sony are dropping their next-generation gaming consoles. In case you are wondering which one is best for you, you have arrived at the right website. This guide is about comparing Xbox Series X and S with PS5. Let’s dive in…

Microsoft Beasts: Xbox Series S and X

The company has planned to drop these consoles on November 10 2020. Series X will have a price tag of 499 USD. The best thing about these consoles is that you can choose the Xbox Series S console if you don’t want to spend much as it only costs 299 USD. Even this 299 device will provide up to 1440P resolution, but will not have a disc drive which could have been a plus point. Despite the low cost, it will feature pretty inferior resolution, half of 4K when compared to Series X. Gladly, if you don’t have a 4K TV, you can go for the Series S to save 200USD. According to Microsoft, both variants will feature at least 60 frames per second. Both will hit up to 120 frames per second while playing games such as Gears 5 and Halo Infinite.

Another benefit of Xbox is that you will get access to the Game Pass. It will provide you up to 100 unique games to play right away after purchasing the console. This will allow you to take a quick test of your new console. With this Game Pass, you will get high-end titles such as Sea of ThievesForza Horizon 4, and A to Z Halo titles.

Furthermore, the company is collaborating with EA Play to improve its Game Pass. This will unleash hundreds of additional titles for your upcoming holiday season. The basic Game Pass costs 9.99USD per month.

Both consoles will support all modern titles, and the only difference will be the resolution. In the S variant, you get up to 1440P, and in Series X, you get up to 4K. There will be no difference in performance and compatibility.

Sony Beasts: PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition

The PS5 Digital Edition that costs 399.99 USD will be released on November 12, two days after the launch of Xbox Series S and X. You will need to spend 499.99 USD for PS5, and it will launch on the same day too. In some countries, these products will be released on November 19.

Now keep in mind that both devices are the same in every aspect, except the physical disc drive, which is not a factor these days. Most people prefer digital games instead of buying physical DVDs. However, some folks use the disc variant as a Blu-ray player. Sony is also launching its iconic title Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on the day of the official launch. They have hyped it so much that people are paying more attention to the game instead of the console.

Which One to Own?

If you are a budget buyer go for Microsoft Xbox Series S which is only 299 USD. If you are a fan of PlayStation consoles, then you should choose PS5 over Xbox. You should also consider what your friends are buying since if you both have the same consoles, you will be able to share titles and play in multiplayer mode.
