Warrior Nun Brings On Its Season Two

Warrior Nun is officially ready for its second season. Netflix confirmed the news with a tweet along with an official tweet from the makers of the show as well. The tweet features a short clip of a video conference between the cast and Simon Barry, making a revelation of the new season coming in. The end of the first season came so abruptly which left fans drooling for more. This news comes after a month and a half since the first season was launched.

Based on a comic book series of the same name by Ben Dunn, Warrior Nun is a fantasy drama series, directed by Simon Barry and the production is carried out by the same team of Game Of Thrones. The series has been quite successful, being the third biggest TV show on Netflix in the world in the last couple of months.

The story revolves around a 19-year-old quadriplegic orphan, Silva, who resurrects after she is embedded with a sacred artefact by a group of superheroes. Silva is a part of the Order of the Cruciform Sword, in her new life and she must fight the forces and demons who are trying to get control over her.

The real-life order, Fraternite Notre-Dame has been the inspiration behind Warrior Nun Areala. The order finds themselves in disagreement with the Pope. Although there are different protagonists in Warrior Nun and Warrior Nun Areala, Ben Dunn used his knowledge of the demon-fighting nuns, while writing the series. Born in Taiwan and raised in Kentucky and Texas, he attended a catholic school, which also serves as his source for inspiration for this nun themed work.

In the second season, we will see Ava collaborating with the Order to bring the fight to Adriel. As the devil will make a reveal, rather than fighting along, the heavenly forces may come to the Vatican to help the Order.

According to one of the reports, season two is expected to take longer than usual remakes hitting the streaming service. If the shooting does start in 2020, the new episodes would be available online by the second half of next year or even in 2022.Warrior Nun season one had devilish Adriel return by the end, so with the second season, there might be a depiction of Adriel as the antagonist with a larger screen presence. Ava and her sisters’ resolution give us a hint that there could be enough action along with the exploration of political and religious ideologies.
