Turn Edge into Your Personal Daily Dashboard with These Steps

The Enterprise Edge users can now create customizable news feeds when they open any new tab in their web browser. Alongside the content and features of Office 365 productivity, a significant boost in the team’s proficiency can be seen with the help of the news feeds section.

The development crew at Edge has recently added functionality to the New Tab page of the browser, as stated in the blog post by Microsoft.

Apart from the updates in the Office 365 content, Microsoft has added a new “My Feed” section to the service. This section will have all the latest news and updates from your favorite content providers.

“My Feed” Feature Only for Enterprise Users?

Microsoft states that this new feature is currently available only for the enterprise users who will sign up with their work account on Azure Active Directory. This simply means that the feature will not be available for the regular Edge users, at least for now.

The Enterprise users will be greeted with an array of productivity-oriented content of Office 365 when they open up a new tab in their web browser. Users will also get access to a navigation section, which will help them organize and even access the news feeds relevant to them.

Initially, the news feeds are aimed to meet your industry’s profile. But the section can manually be customized to match the requirements even more.

How to Get Access to the “My Feed” Feature

If you want to get access to the “My Feed” feature, you should have an 87.0.0 or higher version of Edge on your system. Please do remember that to use this feature, you should have a work/school account on the Azure Active Directory. You also need to be updated with the Insider channel builds.

How to Customize the Business-Relevant News Feeds

IT administrators can more efficiently customize edge news feeds. Even if you are not among them, all you need to do is log in to your Microsoft 365 account. Further, you need to move on to the admin center portal and perform some changes.

The users can also customize their news feeds according to their interests with the “Personalize” feature. They can toggle the content that is relevant to them on the interest list that is present there.

Users will get backward compatibility features for Microsoft Edge v87 and earlier. However, this feature will be limited to a certain degree. Alongside that, they will get Microsoft Bing’s homepage and the page content of a New Tab. It will be a Microsoft 365-compliant feature with switchable topic/tile modes of viewing.

Final Verdict

So, this was all about the new feature of Edge, with the help of which the users can create custom news feeds. The “My Feed” feature is right now available only for enterprise users. However, we hope to see it for regular Edge users too in the upcoming weeks.
