The Mandalorian: Limits to Which Din Djarin Is Prepared to Go for the Child

Din Djarin was shocked to know that the bounty he was looking for was Baby Yoda, a small child, in the first episode of The Mandalorian. Even though he did hand him over in one of the episodes to a client, Din later rescued him after he had a change of heart. Baby Yoda and Din formed a father-son bond with each other over time. In season 2, their bond faced an unexpected challenge, which put them at risk of losing each other, but they emerged triumphantly as it is expected from them.

A group of bandits ambushed baby Yoda and Din on their way to back Mos Eisley from Mos Pelgo. Initially, it seemed that Din would easily defeat them after he knocked out two of the three bandits. But, the third one quickly realized that Baby Yoda was Din Djarin’s weakness. He got hold of him without wasting any time and surprised Din. Now, he knew that he was safe and in a position, to negotiate. After bargaining, he finally got his hands on Din’s jetpack in exchange for Baby Yoda’s safety.

It is essential to point out that Din’s jetpack was important to him and was given to him by The Armorer in the season 1 finale. It was a reward for reuniting the Child/Baby Yoda with his kind. The jetpack is essential for his identity, and he wanted it for a long time. The moment he was asked to give it up, he did not hesitate once and handed it over for the safety of the Child. It shows the kind of commitment Din has for the safety and well-being of the Child. The jetpack completed his identity as a Mandalorian, but for him, that was not as valuable as having the Child by his side.

Although it is true that Din was the one who had the last laugh as he succeeded in getting the better of the third Bandit as well. After he had ensured that the third Bandit was at a safe distance from him and the Child, he activated the jetpack using his remote. It sent the third Bandit flying into the air before he ultimately fell to the desert below. The jetpack flew back to Din, which means he never really lost it. But, that doesn’t change the fact that he was willing to sacrifice something so precious to him for the well-being of the Child.

However, the bandits on Tatooine were not the only enemies Din had to face. The gigantic spider-like creature named Krynka came across him while they were on an ice planet. Moreover, he was also informed that for breaking Qin out of prison, he was also being pursued by the forces of the New Republic. Din is aware of all the dangers he is facing, but he never thinks of dumping the Child. He is committed to helping the Child reunite with his family. It appears that he is determined to do everything he can to ensure the well-being of the Child.
