My Hero Academia: 5 Facts About Tsuyu’s Quirk

It’s not fair to put Tsuyu Asui in an inferior box. Because her abilities can do so many things that other Quirk users can’t even think of. As a frog Quirk user, Tsuyu is always trading as one of the show’s inferiors, but there is more to this cute frog than a long sticky tongue.

In the past, Tsuyu has used her Quirk to save people multiple times, and she always comes for the recuse. Her frog-like ability not only makes her incredibly fast, but she can whip out that tongue to attack her enemies in long-range and short-range battles.

Here are five strange secrets about Tsuyu’s underrated Frog Quirk in My Hero Academia.

Tsuyu excels in the aquatic world.

Apart from her impeccable judgment skills, Tsuyu’s frog-like anatomy allows her to move freely in the water. She can move her limbs at the same speed as any other aquatic animal. She can travel long distances in water, and unlike other Quirk users, she can fight in water without losing her strength and agility.

Tsuyu can talk like normal human beings.

Apparently, the frog-like tongue doesn’t interfere with Tsuyu’s speaking skills. Many believed that having a long tongue will interfere with Tsuyu’s communication skills as she won’t be able to pronounce words correctly. Tsuyu has frog-like anatomy, but she is still a human, and so is her tongue. She can fold her tongue into her mouth and allow only the tip to touch the palate while speaking, enabling her to talk normally.

Tsuyu can camouflage herself and adapt to her surroundings.

There are so many species of frogs that specialize in camouflage techniques. Tsuyu is also a frog family member, and she can adapt her body according to the colors and temperature of her surroundings. This new technique allows her to hide in places and perform sneak attacks.

Tsuyu has excellent reflexes and agility.

Tsuyu’s Frog Quirk naturally gives her an upper hand in reflexes and agility. Her climbing skills, jump skills, sprint, and falling skills are better than anybody else’s. Her frog-like consciousness gives her superior body movements, and unlike other heroes, she doesn’t even have to activate her Quirk to use her ultra instincts reflexes.

Gravity doesn’t affect Tsuyu.

Tsuyu’s frog-like ability works flawlessly on the ground as well as on the walls. She can stick her hand out on a wall, and she can stay there as long as she wants. She uses a spread-out position to adhere her body to elevated surfaces and climbs both horizontally and vertically across buildings. However, it is not clear how she was able to stick to the walls with her hand gloves; Spiderman did the same in the 2002 movie, so we might as well accept it as it is.
