The upcoming movie Fantastic Beasts 3 confirmed that shooting has started. The project includes some of the best actors of Hollywood like the talented Redmayne who will join the co-stars’ Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, and Katherine Waterston. David Yates is the director of the project along with the scriptwriter J.K. Rowling. Edward John David Redmayne is known for his roles in The Good Shepherd and Like Minds. He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He also won the Golden Globe, BAFTA Award, and an Academy Award. The movie has persevered through several controversies involving the cast. The first sequel was a massive hit and revived the franchise name from Harry Potter. However, the sequel faced commercial and critical adverse outcomes. The poor performance also delayed the production of the third film.
The third installment of the franchise has faced many delays. The film was under production for an extended period to polish the script. Then the movie was set to start the shooting in London, but the production once again delayed due to the pandemic coronavirus. Although, even when the restriction on shooting lifted in the UK, the production of Fantastic Beast 3 remained on hold.
Recently, Eddie Redmayne confirmed in an interview with Cinema Blend that they had started the production work in London. However, Warner Bros. has a whole list of coronavirus protocols for cast and crew. To which Redmayne said: It is new—testing and masks. And she wondered whether the masks would affect creativity, in some ways. Maybe that was a bit ignorant, but I thought, we need interaction to spark from each other. It is reassuring to see a different process and everyone working at the top of their game.
Redmayne’s fear was unfounded, and he confirmed that everything is running smoothly, though the shooting is taking quite a long time and is facing lots of challenges.
The movie is one of the many productions that has started but stuck into the middle ground—the production of Warner Bros. The Batman was resumed after the lockdown, but the team again had to postpone the shooting after Robert Pattinson tested corona positive. Although the plot of the project is still a mystery and after the negatively received second installment Redmayne sounds confident that things are back on track. However, the fans have to wait till 12 November 2021 to see the movie in theatres. Redmayne’s words indeed gave an assurance to the audience.
