Black Panther 2 Will Start Shooting in July 2021

Black Panther 2 shared that Marvel Studio will start the shooting of the movie in July 2021. Black Panther is a superhero hero movie franchise based on the character of Marvel Comics of the same name. Marvel Studios produced the movie, and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributed it. Ryan Coogler was hired for the movie’s direction, which also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole. The 2018 film stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther. Lupita Nyong’o, Daniel Kaluuya, Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Winston Duke, and Letitia Wright in the supporting cast.

The first movie of the franchise was released on 16 February 2018. The film is critically praised for its screenplay, direction, costume design, soundtrack, acting, and CGI effects. Black Panther collected a gross of $1.3 million worldwide. It became the ninth highest-grossing film of all time and the highest-grossing project by a black director.

The movie received many nominations, including seven nominations at the 91st Academy Awards. It won Oscars for Best Original Score, Best Production Design, and Best Costume Design. It also received two Golden Globe Awards and three Critics’ Choice Awards. The team is now planning to release the movie in May 2022.

The sudden death of the Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman left the franchise in uncertainty. The amazing actor died after fighting cancer for four years. The family, friends, and fans are still in the grief of losing him, and no one is ready to discuss the status of Black Panther 2. In an interview, the co-star Letitia Wright shared that the franchise will be strange without Boseman. Marvel and Disney Studios have not shared any details or updates regarding the movie, while executive producers say they are still processing the star’s loss.

According to an article of THR, Marvel has started planning for their next project Black Panther 2. After the first movie released in February 2018, producer Kevin Feige shared many ideas and stories to tell about the character in the Black Panther world. Feige also added that he wanted Coogler to return for the sequel. In response, Coogler said he would also want to see the character of Boseman, T’Challa, become a king.

In March 2018, the producer shared nothing specific to reveal about the project, but the team is working on it. Later after seven months, Coogler was signed to direct and write the sequel of Black Panther. Currently, the team is planning to shoot in Atlanta, Georgia, in July 2021. The production will take place for six months, and the shooting will complete by the end of next year. Audiences can expect Black Panther 2 on 6 May 2022 in theatres.

The new schedule for the upcoming movie Black Panther 2 is different from the original. Initially, the shooting was said to start in March 2021. However, after Boseman passed away, it was shifted to July next year. The team can use the four-month time as a period of preparation. The additional time will help prepare for the loss of Boseman and make up for the lost time due to the pandemic.

The makers have not shared anything about the actual content, and the movie is still a mystery. Marvel Studios, Victoria Alonso, confirmed that they would not digitally create Boseman for the sequel, which created speculation that Letitia Wright’s Shuri might get a more significant role. However, the studio has not yet announced who will be the villain in the upcoming movie. There are several months left of the shoot, and it is most unlikely that the team will reveal further details other than that anymore.
